  2. When I am down I talk to Joe. Joe makes me feel better. Any of my friends make me feel better. I SHALL talk to Joe about my worryies forever. Joe lets me play his Ipod and he talks to me. I do the same for others.

  3. When I am feeling down I go to my mom or dad and tell them how I feel. Or either I will go to a loyal friend that I can trust at the time. I SHALL whenever I'm feeling down go to this person because they make me feel relifed because I got to talk to them. It helps me when I tell someone about how I'm down because it gets it out of my mind. I usually try todo the same for others so that they know that they can trust me.

  4. When i am feeling down i usually talk to one of my best friends, Lauren or alyssa(i love themm<33), because i know that they wont tell anyone and i know that they always have great advice. They sometimes know what im going through which helps too. Mostly i think that everyone needs someone that they could tell anything too and i try and let my friends know that they can trust me also.

  5. When I'm feeling down I really don't tell anyone right away because maybe it will go away with happens many times. Once it overcomes me for a day I talk to my mom. I talk to my mom because she knows a lot about me and she can relate because she has gone through everything that I 'm starting to go through. Most of the time I help people but sometimes I don't because sometimes I don't want to get into the business because sometimes I don't need to get into relations ships.

  6. When I'm feeling down? I go to my best friends. They are the only ones who I feel I can be completely and totaly honest with (partially because if I did something wrong I dont get scolded). I dont know what my my friends are DOING to help, but just talking to them seems to make me feel better. I have a lot of things to deal with and if i told anybody but my best friends, they would think I was crazy! And I guess that I do the same for my best friends. Because I'm one of the only people the can relate to and really trust. Somethimes when I feel down there is not a PERSON that helps but a THING (kinda). Whenever I'm kinda down or need to talk about something, but really cant I try to express it through some kind of art (and usaully failing). Even though I'm MOST CERTAINLY not the best at art it helps make me feel better. And sometimes when I'm sad and have no one to talk to, and no inspiration, I just have to live with it until it goes away. If it doesnt, then I'm out of luck.

    -Kyrsten Napolitano

P.S.- Talking about that made me feel kinda depressed. :(

  7. When I AM FEELING down I talk to my best friend. My best friend helps me either solve my problem or give me advice. When other are down I help them too. Since when I am feeling down I have someone to talk, the others should have the same option. Thats why I help others when other help me.

  9. That's pretty hard...I talk to a lot of people when I'm down, but the person I probably go to the most is Maggie Mitchell. Whenever I'm down, she will crack jokes. She would even insult herself to make me feel better. Then I will say no to all the stuff she said that isn't true!!! And even if I'm not down, but like stressed out or something she will have me do yoga. She do it with me too!! It's REALLY FUNNY to watch!!! Ya, I do the same for others, but it might not be the same thing for each person. Like I might make someone laugh by telling jokes. Or I might try to get wahtever "it" was off of the person's mind. To do this I would talk about what they like to do like shopping, sports, or ANYTHING! People are all different in their own way, so they won't all like the same thing as another.

  10. The person I talk to when I'm feeling down is my best friend, Grace Abrams . I do this because I know I CAN TRUST her to not spread any rumors or anything that would put me down. She is a very trustworthy person. Sometimes when you are depressed your immediate response is to go to a friend or trustworthy person that will stick by your side through better or worse. My best friend Grace helps me let things out to her and put my stress behind me. With a busy life it's bad enough without stress, but with stress it's even harder to deal with. This is why I trust certain people like, Grace to keep personal info. to themselves about another person. I also help people when they are down. I know how I feel when I'm down so, I connect with people who have stress or fears and just sit down to help them as my friends help me. I respect that all people have stress once in awhile so I try to help them through it so later on in their life when I'm not there to help they will think of how I helped and get through it themselves. =)

  11. When I'm not feeling all that great, I WILL TALK to my best friend, or my parents, and sometimes other people and tell them what's up. My best friend usually will try to help me come up with a solution to that problem, and my parents will do the same. It feels better when I talk to someone, especially when they have the same problem or had the same problem, because then they might tell me what they did and maybe that'll help for me. It also feels great to help other people, too. But sometimes, it's kind of hard to do that, especially when it's something you've never heard of before. It feels great to get helped, and help other people.

  14. When I am feeling upset, I talk to my friends. I know that they can always help me feel better about anything. It's like they know exactly what to say to turn my frown upside-down. Most of the time, my friends will try telling a joke to make me laugh, which usually works. My friends make it hard not to laugh! Ife they were to come to me for help, I WOULD DO whatever I feel they need. If they are upset about nothing, I would probably just try to make them smile. If they were seriously sad, I would try to help them feel better by giving them suggestions on what to do. I am just really glad I have friends that I can depend on! I hope they think that they can depend on me too!!

  15. Well, When I am FEELING down,I dont TALK to anybody. I know, Iknow. People always SAY to TALK to people about your problems, but i cant do that. I just like keeping things to myself.

I guess I cant ANSWER the second question.

When somebody COMES to me for help with their problems, I TRY my best to make them FEEL better. I HATE seeing my friends FEELING down, so i do anything i can to cheer them up.Thats what friends are for :)

  16. If I am feeling down, my friends WILL KNOW before I even talk to them. They can sense it. They ask me if I'm alright. They try to see whats going on and say things to make me feel better. When my friends are feeling down, you just ask a couple of questions. Then you'll know whether or not they want to talk about it. If they don't want to, then we don't have to. I WILL TRY to make them happier.

  17. When I'm feeling down I talk to my really good friends about it. I guess it depends what situation it is to make my decision on who to tell. They WILL MAKE ME feel better because they make me smile or laugh. As you know middle school is alot of drama so yes I do help my friends out when they are down and make them feel good. I guess thats what friends are for!

  18. I WILL GO to a specific person when I am feeling down. That one person is Tyler McCormack. Tyler talks everything through with me, kind of like a guidance counselor would do. We take it step by step and finally I WILL BE happy. I do the same for him, but I also do the same for other friends and family members. I'm very good with advice, so it comes in handy in making people feel better when they are down in the dumps.

  22. When I AM FEELING down I go to my most trusted friends. Sometimes, I know it’s going to sound weird but I kind of talk about the problem in my head to my self it just helps me relax and not have to be in that awkward position when talking about your problems. I also go to my family but sometimes it just feels weird talking to them. Mostly a friend is the best thing for me and they are always there to cheer me up and make me smile I don’t know what I would do with out them. For others I am always there to help even if their not my best friend but they need help I will always be open for you to talk to me, I can cheer you up, make you have a smile on your face, and forget about what happened that made you feel down. If you ever need help when your feeling down I’m open for you and I hope you will do the same for me.

  36. Feelings, like sneezes, are meant to "get out" of you. If you try to hold in your sneezes, you're not letting your body do it's job, like getting rid of germs. If the germ stays in you, you get sick with a cold.
Similar to when you're feeling down. Holding on to that feeling can cause harm and keep you feeling down in the dumps.
One great way you all explained how you deal with these feelings is through talking to others, and Kyrsten mentioned creating art (which is a great way to get feelings out, even if it doesn't seem obvious).
What are some other ways you can express your feelings?

Good friends always know how to make me smile and be happy when i am sad. I am glad that i have people to talk to or else I would have to keep all the stuff that is bothering me bottled up inside and it could make me really depressed or stressed out and its not good to be like that all the time and it makes the people around you upset also.

When I`m feeling bad i talk to my mom or dad.I can tell them anything and i know they wouldn`t tell anyone.I also tell my trustworthy friends like Madison Richards,I tell her everything, and she always is WILLING to talk at any time I need to.She helps also by making me laugh. So she distracts me from the sadness.

  84. Usually when I’m feeling down I WILL HAVE to get one of my funny friends to help cheer me up. If that doesn’t work I SHALL just wait it out and I’ll usually think of something that takes my mind of it. I always help my friends feel better and it works most of the time.

  90. When I’m feeling down I talk to my friends or parents depending on the problem. Sometimes I feel bad about something I did wrong, which I usually tell my friends about because my parent could get mad at me about it. I know both my friends and family WILL BE THERE for me whenever I need them and I always try to be there for them as well.

  98. When I am feeling down I usually figure it out myself if it is a minor controversy. If it is a larger problem I will talk to someone that is trustworthy. For instance a friend, parent, sibling, or guidance counselor. I never have been there for someone but if someone were to ask WOULD HAVE said yes.

Then Theres metzger! shes my best friend because when IAM FEELING down she makes me smile no matter what. Gabby is also one of my other bffs. Gabby is smart so she knows how to handle situations. So when im feeling down i go to gabby, emily, or lauren for advice. They all have great opinions! Then if i see someone in the hallway sad, ill go up to them and value their opinions! I know i have great friends so why not be a good friend back?

  101. When I am feeling down I usually don't tell anyone because it might be embarrassing. But if I need to TALK to someone, it would have to be my parents. I would talk to them because they wouldn't tell anybody or make fun of me. You can always trust your parents. If somebody else is feeling down I would help them because if I helped them maybe later on when I have a problem they will probably help me. That’s what I would do if I am feeling down.

  106. When I am down I talk to no one! My friends can make me feel better by telling me stuff that is positive, but I don't need them involved with issues that are mine. When I have a problem I like to throw stuff, usually its a pillow or something soft, but when I'm freaking out I'll jump on my trampoline. I shall not throw stuff and should just take my anger out on other things.

  107. When I am feeling down I will usually go to one of my best friends or my mom to talk about the situation. When I go to a friend, they WILL HAVE MADE me feel better in a completely different way than my mom will. A friend will listen to what I have to tell them and then they will find some sort of way to cheer me up by making up a joke or something like that. On the other hand when I talk to my mom she will give me great advice on how to act about or handle a situation. It always makes me feel better to let my feelings out opposed to keeping them inside of me.

  115. At times when I AM FEELING down, I immidiatley turn to my friends. Every single one of them has at least helped me through one tough situation in my life. The reason I spill out all of my problems and what-not to them is because they know me so well that they know the things I stuggle with and the things that just come naturally to me. They can tell what I'm feeling at all times whether it's through facial expressions or words. I'd definatley do the same for any one of my friends... or, in fact, anybody that just needs someone to talk to. I WILL BE more than happy to listen and try my best to give the best advice possible. In the past I've done this alot. (To be specific, most of the time in the girl's bathroom at dances when there's so much drama and tears.) Overall, though, I definatley rely on my friends the most when I'm having problems and need to talk to someone.

Because your parents, yeah they already went throught what we are going through right now, but I think it would be better if you talk to your friend because then you have someone going on the journey with you!

  119. To add to what Mrs.Montrose asked about what else we do if we are feeling down. I would play softball. I would throw a softball into a big net that we have, and I feel everytime I throw the softball, I'm throwing out all the emptiness that was just laying inside me. To me when I'm down it feels like 1,000 pounds crushed my heart. But when I throw that softball it feels like I'm losing each pound, every throw.

  123. I agree with Riley Bednar, it's a really good idea to try and make someone laugh so they SHALL forget what the problem they were having was even about. I tend to find myself using that technique with all of my friends by bringing up old inside jokes or just sharing something that happened to me that was similar to their "dilemma", and how I chose to work through it. Great post, by the way, Riley! :)

  131. The people I can share my feelings with are Sean, Lauren, and Tyver, I can always trust them on anything I tell them. Everytime I hang out with my best friends that I trust, they never mock me or make fun of me of my secrets I tell them. I of course trust my parents, and I can always tell them about my problems. My parents always have my back on anything I do. WHENEVER my three best friends are feeling down or upset I always try to cheer them up or make them laugh. I don't stop until I make them laugh. I know when I'm feeling depressed I always love to laugh or be happy.
