Annabella tells Kira that there are no beasts. If there are no beasts, why is everyone convinced they exist? To whose advantage is it that people continue to believe in beasts?
Everyone is so convinced that there are beasts in the woods since the Council Of The Guardians wants everyone to think that. I can't say much since I finished the book and I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say that it is to no one's advantage to think that beasts exist.
Everyone believes that the beasts are real because the Council of Guardians have convinced every one that they exist. It is to Jamison's advantage that everyone thinks that the beasts occupy the forest since he was the one that said that Kira's dad was taken by beasts..... which he was not.
People believe in beasts because rumers are that people get eaten by beasts. Like Kira's father, Christipher. It is to Jamison's advantage because he tried to kill Kira's father and shanked his eyes out.
I think that everyone is convinced that they exist because somebody told a little lie saying that they saw one. And then it started a rumor. I think whoever made up this rumor would be better off if everyone still believed. Other people know that they said they saw a beast.
I think the Council of Edifince told people that there are beasts so they could live in fear. I think the people who knew the beasts were not real had the advantage because they did not have to worry for there lives.
I read the book and dont mind spoiling it for people. (I know. I'm evil) THERE ARE NO BEASTS!!! The head honchos of Council use that as a cover up for their dirty work. Like it was actully Jamison that TRIED to kill Kira's dad.(BTW he failed) Or it could be indians insted of beasts. Either way Annabella is right. THERE ARE NO BEASTS.(Notice the fact that like the next day after Kira told Jamison this, Annabella dies) Everyone is convinced b/c that is what Council told them. An advantage to this bogus is to keep everyone scared and obeying Council. Like if they found out there are no beasts they would not look up to Council anymore. So it could be a for control over people.

I think that the village is convinced of the existance of 'beasts' because that is what the Council Of Guardians tells them to believe in. Towards the end of the book, you begin to find out more about the litte lies of people who claimed they where attacked by beasts. Personally, I think that Jamison had Annabella killed for telling Kira about the beasts!!!! Then it got spread and people got scared and that guy eventually died without telling anybody "beasts" don't exist. Vandara used it to seem stronger and get power among the women when she really cut her neck on a rock. Jamison used it to cover up for trying to kill Kira's dad. So, he just covered up for himself so he wouldn't die. But he failed epically and Kira's dad is still alive. So it's really to no one's advantage that people think that beasts exist.

The Council of Edifice is made up of a bunch of murderers who kill men on the hunt so they can be part of the council. The Council really takes advantage of the people and tells them not to go on the hunts, and in the woods, because they might see the men killing each other.
I believe that the beasts are just and excuse for the Council Of The Guardians to sprinkle over everyone so the Council rains supreme over the villa,town,thing. They want the "village" to live in fear of the forest so no one will leave or escape, and I think the field of leaving is like the underground rail road for the village people. If people still believe there is beasts I think the advantage goes to the council. The people will still come to them for help if they so call see a beast. The guardiands will get all the attention and only good things can happen from there.

If there are no beasts, I think everyone continues to believe in them because of all the stories past down. I think that the people from the village think they know everything about everyone's death, when they don't, so they make up that they got stolen by beasts. For example, everybody said that Kira's father got taken by beasts, because they didn't take the time to find out the truth. I think that Vandara uses the beasts to her advantage because she wants to feel powerful and strong. She made up the story that her neck got slashed by beats and that is why she has the scar. The real reason behind this was because she fell on rocks and hurt her neck terribly.

Since Kira's dad said that there were no beasts trying to kill him, they were real people, that says to me that the Council Efifice has a lot of things hidding that they don't want anyone to know about. I think that all these talented kids, like Kira, Thomas & Jo's, parents are all getting "killed" because they want to have their talent so that they can stay in the corridor and work on what the Council needs to have done. If they do it means that they will start their own towns and the council of guardians will not be in power. This is just like the movie, the village. Its about this society living in this world but they are really living in modern day, but their elders dont want them to leave and go to the modern world. Basically they are in an alternate reality. This is how i think these people are. The people that want to make the society possible, dont want their members leaving. They dont want them leaving to another place. So they creat fake beasts to scare people from going into the woods, and leaving. Marissa
People mainly beleive that there are beasts because of Vandara's scar. This scar to the women of the village shows her courage and bravery. What they dont know is that her son fell in a lake and pulled on her shirt to stay up, vandara fell with him. The scar is for one a fake, but people didnt realize that. It is to the governmen's advantage that people beleive in the beasts because for one example, Jamison lied about kira's fathers "death" even though he had survived. Jamison explained to kira that her father had been take by the beasts but thats not at all true, kira father alomst died because of jamison, her protecter. In my opinion, most people are convinced that beasts exist because the Council of Guardians have told them that. They also may be convinced because many of the often reminisce about the rumors, like how Kira's father, Christopher, was supposedly killed by beast. If that is why, then it is to Jamison's advantage because since he attempted to killed Christopher, the beasts will take the blame for the crime.

People say there are beasts but I don’t believe that I think someone is making it up to control what people think. It’s a small town so if one person is told there are beasts then that will get spread and others will think it too. The Council of Ediface is just making up there are being beasts (for as I think) because what ever they say people will believe. It is to the Council of Ediface’s advantage because they can use there power to do whatever they want like making up there are beasts and they are really killing people

If there are no beasts, I think everyone continues to believe in them because of all the stories past down. I think that the people from the village think they know everything about everyone's death, when they don't, so they make up that they got stolen by beasts. For example, everybody said that Kira's father got taken by beasts, because they didn't take the time to find out the truth. I think that Vandara uses the beasts to her advantage because she wants to feel powerful and strong. She made up the story that her neck got slashed by beats and that is why she has the scar. The real reason behind this was because she fell on rocks and hurt her neck terribly.

The Council of Guardians wants everyone to that there are beasts. They want people to think this because if they do everyone would be too afraid to leave the village. It is also an advantage to Vandeara because her scar makes her look as though she isn’t afraid of anything. If people knew that there were no beasts, she would no longer be feared. Jamison is also at an advantage because everyone thought that Christopher was killed by beast when Jamison was really the one who had tried unsuccessfully to kill him.

There are no such thing as beast. The council of edifice are doing to this make somewhat afraid. I wish really i can say some stuff but don't want to ruin the book for some people because someone did for me. And i was at those last chapter:(. i am not going to say who it was though. There r no beast in the forest, Vandara and Jamison started a rumor so they dont get in trouble and it makes them feel in charge. Vandara said the rumor that a beast cut her and she lived to make her feel strong. Jamison said the rumor because he didnt wont to be killed for killing a peoson, but the person lived, and the person was kiras dad, Christopher. That is y they say there r beasts in the forest.

Everyone in the story is saying how scary the beasts are and they ARE real but i disagree,I believe its just a wild animal or maybe even a myth that Vandara and the council edifice created to have a larger population., or to seem more powerful and frighten the townsfolk to listen to them and their every command.

Everyone says that there are beasts out in the field because the Council Edifice doesn't want anyone to know about, I'm guessing, another villiage. Since Kira's dad said that there were no beasts trying to kill him, they were real people, that says to me that the Council Efifice has a lot of things hidding that they don't want anyone to know about. I think that all these talented kids, like Kira, Thomas & Jo's, parents are all getting "killed" because they want to have their talent so that they can stay in the corridor and work on what the Council needs to have done. I also think that the Concil wanted to have the people be disguised as beasts so that no one would ever go into the fields because beasts are scarry are what people have told them.

If they do it means that they will start their own towns and the council of guardians will not be in power. Its about this society living in this world but they are really living in modern day, but their elders dont want them to leave and go to the modern world. Basically they are in an alternate reality. This is how i think these people are. The people that want to make the society possible, dont want their members leaving. They dont want them leaving to another place. So they creat fake beasts to scare people from going into the woods, and leaving.

People mainly beleive that there are beasts because of Vandara's scar. This scar to the women of the village shows her courage and bravery. What they dont know is that her son fell in a lake and pulled on her shirt to stay up, vandara fell with him. The scar is for one a fake, but people didnt realize that. It is to the governmen's advantage that people beleive in the beasts because for one example, Jamison lied about kira's fathers "death" even though he had survived. Jamison explained to kira that her father had been take by the beasts but thats not at all true, kira father alomst died because of jamison, her protecter. Jamison purposly tried to kill kira's father for the benefit of becoming higher in the government's "class."
